When I moved up to this part of Wales two years ago I was very much hoping to get some bookings at the beautiful village of Portmeirion. Happily those bookings are coming in and i’ve photographed two fantastic weddings there in the last few weeks. Here are some location shots from Ffion & Iwan’s wonderful wedding there this past weekend. It’s an amazing place. I’ve long been a huge fan of the 1960’s tv show The Prisoner, created by the great Patrick McGoohan, in which ‘The Village’ was a key part of its surreal mind bending drama and it’s great to finally photograph there. Designed and built by the architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis in the 1920’s, it’s a beautiful and strange slice of an almost mythical Mediterranean transposed to the Welsh coast. I’ll post up selections from the weddings there in the coming weeks.
